" Katrine is a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) at Université de Montréal. She has experience in counselling and psychotherapy with individuals 16+. Katrine obtained a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at McGill University where she obtained two years of clinical training in humanistic-existential psychotherapy at McGill’s Counselling and Psychoeducational Clinic and at the Student Counselling Center of a CEGEP. Katrine is in the final stage of her doctorate in clinical psychology at Université de Montréal (UdeM) where she gained three years of experience in therapeutic assessment and intervention in humanistic-intersubjective and cognitive behavioural therapy at UdeM’s Psychology Clinic.
Her approach to therapy is integrative but fundamentally humanistic. Meaning, she highly values her relationship with you and meeting you exactly where you are in your personal process of change/growth. She will work collaboratively with you, at your own pace, to get you to where you want to be. It is important to her to build a safe space where you feel you can explore together your difficulties and challenges, as well as your dreams and aspirations, in an open and non-judgemental way, in order to help you achieve your goals. She also works from a schema-based framework, meaning she focuses on built-in relational patterns and how they might be influencing your life and the difficulties you are experiencing. Katrine’s integrative approach allows her to draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Mindfulness-Based Therapies (MBT, MBCT), Acceptance-and-Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Self-Compassion.
